
Summary
The book Chasing Lincolns Killer is a non-stop thrill seeker. The book first starts out by Abranham Lincoln going to a play at Ford's Theater with his wife on a nice peaceful night. Abe soon minutes from now would be dead, yes dead. John Wilkes Booth Lincolns assasian has had this mission planned for days after he knew Abe Lincoln was going to be there. John Wilkes knew he would be on a suicide mission, but he was a thrill seeker. John Wilkes then entered the building casually sneak up to the presidents box and looked through the door knob hole. Lincoln was sitting there watching the play, it only had about 15 minutes left so he had to hurry. Everybody in the box had their backs turned watching the play. Booth turned the knob slowley with his heart racing opened the door and BANG! Lincoln was dead. Booth was unsure if he killed the president. But without hesitation ran down the steps and took a leap of faith of a 3 story balcony. He landed but on his leg which then led to a broken fibula (the shin). With everybody shouting and screaming he darted out of the building into a back alley with a young clueless man holding his horse for him for 5 dollars. Wilkes took the horse and was off to the races. If you thought that was all that happened that day you were wrong. Just minutes after Lincoln's assasination Secertary Seward who was killed by Lewis Powell. Powell and Booth both went different ways, but both were vicious murderers.

Main Theme
The Hunt for a Killer- Since John Wilkes assasinated Abe Lincoln and ran out of the state, troops are being sent out to hunt for him and immediatley execute him. Troops will soon find out more clues to the mystery like how Booth and Herold stopped at a doctor Mudd's office to heal, sleep, and eat. Mudd also gave Booth a pair of crutches for Booth's broken fibula. Other questions will be answered like Samuel Arnold who had the origonal plan to assasinate the president. (he was sentenced in prison for life). All these things helped hunt down John Wilkes Booth the murderer of the president , but after 12 days on April, 26th the mission was finished.
Character traits
Abe Lincoln- Lincoln was the 16th president of the US. he was a honest , tall , bearded man that ended up changing history by ending slavery and giving blacks the rights they needed. he was a all around great person.
John Wilkes Booth- Booth obviously the killer of Lincoln. On the outside he was a fine looking man with a mustache and curly hair. But on the inside he was a smart, furious, vicious beast that changed history.
Booth-ambitious- John wilkes is camping out behind Fords theater waiting for the presidents arrival
Booth- smart- Had a full proof plan if anything went wrong, and he had a good escape route.
Lincoln-relaxed- Lincoln gets a night off and seess a play with his wife at Fords Theater
Fords Theater-crazy- the theater goes crazy after hearing a gunshot and realizing the President has been shot
Booth-succesful- Booth is succesful on making is one shot kill right to lincolns head
Powell-glad- Powell's glad that he is Booth's accompise helping him sneak out of the state and get far away as possible
Dr. Mudd-worried- Mudd is worried that after giving Booth help and the cops question him
